Are you tired of every Google Doc you create looking like everyone one else's? How about adding some personal style to your Google Docs?
Not Harry Styles
When I started using a word processor in the mid 80s (hello AtariWriter!) the choices were limited for fonts, sizes, and effects. Nowadays, you have overwhelming choices on how exactly your document can look. With so many choices, keeping a consistent look can be difficult. That is, if you don't use styles.
Styles are a way to set the font, size, effect, and color of specific elements in a document. Google Doc has styles for the following elements:
Normal Text
Title
Subtitle
Heading 1-3
By using a style when working in your document, the document retains a professional looking consistency with a bonus. Changing the style immediately changes all the text in the document that uses that style. Want to use a different font for the body of the document? Change the Normal Text style and the whole document changes.
I like changing my styles at the start of each new year, making my documents seem fresh and exciting. Well, at least for me, I don't think others care that much but that's more of an issue for them than me. Once you save your new styles as the default, every document you create will automatically have the new look.
